This weekend, I read Shutter Island, by Dennis Lehane. Eric and I always prefer to read books that have been made into movies before we see the movie, and this was no exception. It was a great book–captured my attention, and kept it for most of the book with a few exceptions (the dream sequences, that while during my read-through, didn’t appear to be that important, but in the end gave some clues as to the surprise ending). I thought the story was well written, and the book had me on edge for much of the time. Although, now that I’ve read the surprise ending, I don’t know if I want to see the movie…but isn’t that the way life tends to shape up?!
