Farmer’s Market Haul

We’ve had a great last two weeks at the farmer’s market. Take a look!

Last weekend–shiitake mushrooms, apples, salad greens, kale, tomatoes, ground beef, orange pepper, whole chicken, edamame, and turnips. Capped off with a delicious pumpkin whoopie pie!

This week’s haul. A little smaller than last week since our CSA started this week. A dozen eggs, granola bar, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, whole-wheat fettucini, eggplant, edamame, apples, and coffee. Our CSA this week brought us broccoli, beans, tomatoes, radishes, yellow squash, lettuce, and everything bagels.

Even more than Eric and I, Ethan has been LOVING the mornings we spend at the farmer’s market. We start our trip with a stop at the bakery booth, where he and I share a treat. Two weeks ago, it was a pumpkin whoopie pie. This week, it was the most delicious apple biscuit. Imagine a flaky, moist, flavorful (huge) biscuit, topped with a sugary, delicious apple compote. Warm, and absolutely melting in our mouths. YUM!

I’ll leave you with that ;) What have you found at your farmer’s markets lately?
