{Product Review} August Birchbox

I was so excited to get my August Birchbox and my August Glam Bag when I got home from vacation a few weeks ago. I’ve had a chance to try out most of the products, so the next two posts will be my reviews of the goodies I’ve had a chance to try!

The August Birchbox had some great products and some ok products. But it was definitely worth the $10–there was at least $35 worth of products in it.

Here’s what I thought:

Birchbox Time!

Schick razor, Viva La Juicy perfume, Caldrea hand soap, YuBe skin cream, and Stila waterproof eye liner.

Caldrea hand soap smells so good! I just wish the sample size was bigger. These are tiny two-use packets. Great to carry in my purse though.

YuBe Moisturizing Skin Cream. Teeny tiny sample tube, but it works great! The texture was a little to viscous for me, but the moisture lasted for several hours without being sticky.

Viva La Juicy. I was surprised I liked this perfume so much. I generally think of Juicy as a brand that doesn’t fit well with my lifestyle and my life choices, but this perfume was bright, flirty, and fun. It’s a great summer perfume, and I’ll probably ask for a bottle for a holiday or birthday.

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner. This impressed me. One big reason I signed up for Birchbox and My Glam was to try new eye products, since my previous eye makeup routine was pretty stale. This eyeliner didn’t disappoint. It goes on smoothly, has a bit of shimmer, but still looks professional, and it STAYS. I mean seriously–one night I forgot to take off my makeup and decided to test it–at the end of Day 2, it still looked perfect. It’s a new favorite.
