I was so excited to get an email from eShakti.com about doing a review here for them. I had heard a little buzz through social media about the site, but didn’t know much about the company or their products. So let me tell you what I learned.
eShakti.com is a company that caters to women of all sizes, and all style preferences. Their styles are available in sizes 0-26. Shakti means power in Sanskrit, and eShakti.com uses the power of the web to empower women to look and feel their best. Their site is easy to navigate, and overflowing with really stylish, chic dresses, skirts, and tops. Many of the dresses are reminiscent of really classic styles, combining feminine details with a polished look for today’s woman. They offer sleeve, neckline, and hem customizations to make your dress or top/skirt perfect for you and your preferred style.
When I was picking out the dress I was going to try out, I was a little bit overwhelmed with all the choices–so many of the dresses on their site were exactly my style. Classic and feminine, but suitable for work. I had close to 20 browser windows open comparing dresses. Poor Eric had to look at all of them with me, and help me decide on the “perfect” dress. Now, I’ve been struggling a little bit with my weight since having Ethan–so shopping has been the thing I avoid most. I hate looking in the mirror, hate that I’m the size I am, and hate the way most things look on me. This is a huge change that I’ve really been struggling with–before getting pregnant last year, I was a true size 4. After picking out a dress, I was really hopeful (yet skeptical and cynical) that this dress would make me feel the same way I used to about clothes. I used the size chart on the eShakti.com website to figure out the right size–and despite my vanity saying otherwise, I took eShakti’s advice and ordered the size that came up on their size chart.
The dress took a little over a week to get to me, and was delivered via DHL. eShakti offers free shipping on orders over $100–so if you order two dresses, they’ll ship for free. Let me tell you–the dress I chose was gorgeous, right out of the box. I was a little intimidated to try it on because I was so worried that it wouldn’t fit (like everything else lately!). A few days after the dress arrived, I finally worked up the nerve to try it on, and it fit perfectly. Like it was made just for me. I was in love, Eric was in love, and I’m going to assume Ethan loved it too. The next day, I wore the dress to work with a pair of heels. As soon as I walked in the door to my office, people were asking me where I got the dress, because they loved it. I got comments all day long–I even got comments about how nice I looked from a few men in the office–who, sorry to say if they’re reading this, usually don’t notice anything but the work we’re doing. The dress was great all day–it fit perfectly, and made me look feminine, polished, and stylish. Here’s a look:
