I got this sample of Aveeno Smart Essentials Daily Detoxifying Scrub in one of the more recent Target beauty bags. I was actually going to do a review of this plus another scrub together, but I’ve actually been using this scrub for about two weeks, and I love it–so much so that I haven’t been able to quit using it to try the other one. But my sample (a generously-sized one, thanks Target!) is almost out…so I’ll have to try the other one then.
I’ve used a few Aveeno products in the past, and have always been happy with them, but have always found other products that I like better–not saying there was anything wrong with any of the products I’ve tried though. This scrub lived up to my expectations. It’s gritty, but not harshly so. I’ve been using it after my cleansing cream–scrubbing it in and rinsing it off. My problem with most scrubs and masks is that I never remember to use them because I don’t keep them in the shower. This scrub is meant to be kept in the shower, given how it’s packaged. So that’s where it’s lived for the past couple of weeks. And I’ve remembered to use it almost every day. It’s gentle enough that even my sensitive skin has tolerated it well, and I’ve noticed fewer dry patches since I started using it. I would definitely consider getting a full-sized tube of this when my current scrub runs out (L’Occitane Almond Apple).
