  2. How fun! I went to school with Brooke (then Kolconay) Byrand — love the ideas! (And the small world!)

  3. First off I would like to say excellent blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing. I’ve had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out. I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Many thanks!

  4. I’ve been having a hard time doing that lately–which is why there haven’t been many posts lately. I spend a lot of time in the shower or when I’m out for a walk (or jog) by myself thinking of things to post about, which helps–it allows me to keep a running list of topics to turn to if I don’t have one that immediately comes to mind. In my ideal world, I’d have set time a few times a week to just sit and write–you know, without a baby or a husband needing me to be present. For now, I’m settling for writing while nursing Ethan–although he’s 8 months old, which means his nursing sessions are becoming shorter and he’s becoming more easily distractable.
