So I’m skipping ahead from the last post, and I’ll go back when I’m at home next weekend.
For now though, I wanted to tell you about my first day of my Phoenix trip. I’m here for the 2010 Equal Justice Conference, sponsored by the ABA at the Pointe Hilton Tapatilo Resort. It’s a gorgeous, all-suite resort that is built into a mountain. Pictures to come!
I started my day before dawn with an early flight to Nashville, and from there, a 3.5 hour flight into Phoenix. I arrived at the hotel about 12:30, and was able to get into my room right away. After I unpacked and ate lunch (a turkey wrap with lots of veggies from Einstein’s at the airport), I took a much-needed nap.
After my nap, I was excited to head out for my first mountain/desert run since I moved away from San Diego five years ago. I went about 4 miles, which was my longest so far in rehab, although about a third was more of a walk/scramble than a run. But I’ll take it! Here are some of the sights from the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, trail 100:
